Melissa is a one-of-a-kind audiologist who absolutely loves her profession. A proud South Dakota native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Master of Arts in Audiology from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Originally from Custer, South Dakota, Melissa also spent her summers on her family’s ranch near White River, where she developed a deep appreciation for hard work, community, and helping others. With decades of experience, Melissa has built a reputation for exceptional clinical expertise and compassionate care. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including ENT practices, private practice, nursing homes, industrial hearing conservation programs, and military testing sites.

Driven by a vision to provide hearing healthcare in a more personal, welcoming setting, Melissa founded Baker Audiology & Hearing Aids to create an experience that feels more like home than a traditional medical office. She believes patients deserve to feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for from the moment they walk through the door, fostering lasting relationships and treating every patient like family.

Outside of the clinic, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their three children, who keep life full of laughter and adventure. Whether they’re cheering on the kids’ activities and sports, spending time outdoors with their dog, and being an active member in their church. Family and faith are at the heart of everything she does. And while life is wonderfully busy, Melissa will gladly admit that she never turns down the chance for an occasional afternoon nap!
