About

Favorite sounds: waves crashing, birds chirping, a soft rain
Barb joined the Baker Audiology team on May 7, bringing more than 35 years of healthcare experience to our front desk. Originally from Mitchell, South Dakota, she has called Sioux Falls home for the past 4½ years. Before joining Baker Audiology, Barb spent 30 years working in pharmacy, gaining experience in retail, specialty, compounding, and cancer pharmacy. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) since 2000, she enjoyed helping patients through every stage of their healthcare journey before deciding to explore a new chapter in audiology while continuing her passion for serving others.
Family is at the heart of Barb’s life. She is the proud mother of four grown children, two sons and two daughters, and loves spending time with her five beautiful grandchildren, who include three girls and two boys. Outside of work, Barb enjoys camping, reading, painting, and making memories with family and friends who bring positivity into her life. She recently said goodbye to her beloved Rat Terrier/Jack Russell after nearly 16 wonderful years, a companion who held a special place in her heart.
Known for being fun, loyal, and honest, Barb enjoys creating a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the front door. A few fun facts about her: she’s happily single, related to country music legend George Strait, and loves the peaceful sounds of waves crashing, birds chirping, and a gentle rain. Whether she’s greeting patients with a smile or lending a helping hand, Barb is excited to be part of the Baker Audiology family.
